While this information doesn’t need to be reported to Federal agencies for 2025, the information does need to be communicated to the individual taxpayers. Because of the timing of the bill passage, 2025 tax information reporting forms had already been finalized by the IRS and SSA. So what is a payer to do to comply with these recipient communication requirements?

If you provide automobile loans, you are required to provide the loan recipients with the interest payments made in 2025. In 2026, the IRS will launch Form 1098-VLI to file this information with the IRS and the recipient. But for 2025, you are required to provide this information to the recipient only.
To meet this requirement, our Service Bureau is offering a method to accomplish this task. The Service Bureau will print and mail the necessary data on a secure pressure-sealed forms to the recipients. And the process you use to meet this 2025 requirement will be in place so that you can use the same solution for 2026 when the data must also be reported to the IRS.
